General Questions

Due to limited attendee slots in this year's more comprehensive Festival line-up, participation is limited to members of parliaments and their teams, civil servants from ministries, incumbent industry representatives from the sectors discussed, start- and scale-ups, as well as other public sector representatives

Participation in the Future Cleantech Festival is upon invitation only. If you are interested in participating, please send an email to johanna.ruebcke@fcarchitects.org.

This year, we will use again a digital event platform called talque to make your experience at Future Cleantech Festival 2026 a success. The platform will allow you to connect with other attendees, register for sessions, and create your own personalized agenda. It also includes a map to all Festival locations and will provide you with important logistical updates, including shuttle information and accommodation recommendations. Find some more information on how to get started and use the platform here

Due to ongoing construction on the train racks to Remscheid, we recommend planning your arrival via train or plane to Düsseldorf or Cologne. From both central stations, we offer a shuttle service to Remscheid. The shuttle runs on a predefined schedule, and we kindly ask that you sign up for your desired route and time closer to the festival. If you need assistance with your arrival or departure, please contact FCA staff member Johanna Rübcke at johanna.ruebcke@fcarchitects.org.

We highly recommend booking a room in the Festival's block at the Holiday Inn Express in Remscheid, which offers a special rate. The festival shuttle will pick you up from the hotel and take you back at night. For booking information, please visit the talk platform and check the provided information under "Logistics."

During the Festival

Our electric buses will take you to all locations during the immersive tours of the festival. We have organized a shuttle with two pickup stations: one at the Holiday Inn Express hotel and one next to the Remscheid Town Hall. All program points following the tours are within walking distance of one another in the heart of Remscheid's city center.

If you need a place to work or would like to hold a bilateral meeting, the Cleantech Café is open during the festival and we have reserved meeting rooms at Sparkasse, which is right next to the café. Feel free to reach out if you need a quiet office for a call or meeting.

We will provide free snacks and drinks at the event locations throughout the day. You will also be able to pick up free coffee at the Cleantech Café in Barista, as well as free ice cream at a local shop. Lunch will be served during the site visits, and dinner is also included in the festival program.

Remscheid is one of the last industrial cities in the region. It is known for tool development and manufacture, mechanical engineering, and steel production – already in 1831 the first steam engine was in use, and in 1856 Remscheid had its first cast steel factory. We want to bring together participants to the industry, to the machine rooms, to understand the largest innovation gaps in our energy system.
